Douglas
(Doug) Oler is a native of Wayne County, having been
born in Economy, then moving to Richmond and graduating from Richmond
High School. Doug graduated Cum Laude in 1962 from DePauw University,
majoring in Economics, and from the University of Michigan Law
School in 1965. After law school, Doug worked for a local CPA
firm in the areas of estate planning and tax law. In 1969, he
joined Second National Bank (now U.S. Bank) Trust Department,
eventually becoming Vice President and Senior Trust Officer in
charge of the Trust Department. Later, he also served as in-house
bank counsel. Doug’s primary areas of practice are elder
law, estate planning, wills, trust, probate and business and corporate
law. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Doug has served on the Board of Directors of Reid Hospital Foundation,
Adult Day Care, Richmond Art Museum, Earlham Cemetery, Central
United Methodist Trustees, Richmond High School Alumni Association
Wayne County Foundation, YMCA and DePauw University Alumni Association.
