Community Involvement

As residents of the community we serve, our attorneys believe it is imperative to “give back” to the community in every way possible. We believe that any improvement and assistance to the community, either directly or indirectly, also provides assistance to the lives and businesses of our clients as well. We believe that involvement in our community is a “responsibility”, as we truly believe in the saying: “To whom much is given, much is expected”.

As a whole, our firm is a Silver Partner of the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce, making an annual commitment for the betterment of Wayne County’s businesses and citizens. The firm also contributes annually to a number of local organizations in an attempt to assist others in need. In addition, each of our attorneys also has a diversified history of community service as shown below:

Robert L. Bever – Has served 25 years on the Board of Directors for the local Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, having also served as its Chairman; he currently also serves on the Board of Directors, as Secretary, for Forest Hills Country Club – where he has also been President; and the Board of Directors for the Richmond Area Y.M.C.A. He is also active in local politics, serving on the Wayne County Republican Committee, where he has been a former County Chair for the party. His past services include being a member of the boards for Junior Achievement of Eastern Indiana; the Wayne County Historical Museum; Leadership Wayne County, and Central United Methodist Church. He also donates his time in service as attorney for other community organizations, including H.E.L.P. the Animals, Golay Community Center, and the Model T Ford Club of America. Bob also remains active with local sports, through his long time holding of All Sports Tickets with Richmond Senior High School, and as a member of Red Devil Pride.

Richard Boston – Presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Richmond Art Museum, and the Art Advisory Committee for Indiana University East Campus; former Board Member of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Starr-Gennet Foundation for jazz heritage; past president of the Indiana University Alumni Association of Wayne County, Indiana.

Walter S. Chidester – Past President and Board member for over 30 years of Achieva Resources, Inc. (formerly Green Acres, Inc.); board member of Indiana Legal Services Organizations, Inc.; former board member of United Way of Wayne County; past Treasurer of the Wayne County Democrat Committee.

Ronald L. Cross – Member board of directors of Whitewater Community Television; member of First English Lutheran Church; member and past director of Forest Hills Country Club; former member and president of board of directors of Richmond Y.M.C.A; former member board of directors of Richmond Civic Theatre; sustaining member of the Society of Phi Beta Kappa; member and one of founding directors of Richmond High School Alumni Association; member Indiana University Alumni Association.

Adam G. Forrest – Past President and current Board Member of Junior Achievement of Eastern Indiana; classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of Eastern Indiana; Board Member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County, Indiana; Past President and former Board Member of the Wayne County Foundation; current member of grant and audit committees of the Wayne County Foundation; Past Vice-President and former Board Member of the Whitewater Valley Pro Bono Commission; former Board Member of the Cope Environmental Center; former Board Member of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra; Board Member of Sunrise, Inc.;  Member of First English Lutheran Church.

Douglas B. Oler – Former Board Member of Reid Hospital Foundation, including Chairman of its Investment Committee; Board Member of the Adult Day Care; former Board Member of the Richmond Art Museum; Board Member of Earlham Cemetery; former Board Member of Central United Methodist Trustees and current Chairman of the Church’s Endowment Committee; Board Member of the Richmond High School Alumni Association; former Board Member of the Wayne County Foundation; Former Board Member of the local Y.M.C.A.; Member of the Board of Trustees for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County, Indiana; Winner of the Arthur Vivian Community Leadership Award.
